The Tarot is a powerful tool in the hands of those who wish to free themselves from fear and ignorance. From its use in the divinatory arts to personal use for self-knowledge, its study, taken with seriousness and honesty of purpose, opens the human mind and brings man back to his Divine Source.
The name Tarot or Tarot, as it is also widely used, can be analyzed in various ways, according to scholars: TAROT written backwards is equal to TORAT, which in Hebrew is the name of the Holy Bible of the Hebrew people. When considering the Egyptian origin we have: TAR = path, Rho = king or real. Therefore: TAROT = "The Real Way" or "Way of Life". And finally: TAROT, writing backwards turns into ROTA
In this way the Tarot can be understood as the route or route of a long journey in which the human being is faced with a series of situations represented by each one of the 22 Major Arcana, which together add up all possible experiences to human existence - the Real Way.
The Tarot is a deck consisting of 78 slides, among which the first 22 are highlighted, called Major Arcana and the remaining 56 are called Minor Arcana.
The word "arcane" comes from the Latin arcanum, which means mystery, secret, what is hidden. The Major Arcana or Major Mysteries are represented by archetypes which, according to CG Jung, are psychic images contained in the collective unconscious, a common heritage of all humanity - eg, the mother, the lost paradise, the sinner, the martyr, the dragon, etc. .
The purpose of the Tarot is to serve you.The Tarot is not to guess, but to give some light, an indication, advise a path to take for a particular situation or problem. Use it, but do not become dependent on it. Learn to relativize and retain your free will. Avoid feeling determined or compelled by the messages you receive. Never be totally involved in the answers that the letters give; consider them only as friendly advice, as guidance.
Never forget that you are the actor of your own life and that the responsibility of your destiny is exclusively yours. The Tarot does not exist to divert you from this awareness, but rather to remind you constantly.
If you want to penetrate into the world of cartomancy, remember a simple principle: "DO NOT ASK THE TAROT MORE THAN IT CAN GIVE YOU. THAT IS, ALIAS, THE BEST MEANS FOR IT TO GIVE YOU THE MAXIMUM."
