Espiritus del Ande Incense is a 100% natural product hand crafted from plants & resins native to The Andes Mountains. The main ingredients: Palo Santo and Wiraqoya are known throughout the land as medicines for cleansing, purification and good fortune. The lighting of the incense represents our intention and prayer, being released into the energy field to come forth and manifest.
(Burseara Graveolens) Palo Santo or "Holy Stick" is natural wood aromatic incense used for centuries by the Incas and indigenous people of the Andes as a spiritual remedy for purifying and cleansing, to get rid of evil spirits and misfortune, as well as for medicinal purposes. It is often used by shamans in sacred plant spirit ceremonies.
In the ethno-botanical systems of the Andes Palo Santo is also used: as an insect repellent, as a feline stimulant (similar to catnip), for colds, asthma, allergies, stress, anxiety, sea sickness, migraine, arthritis, neck aces, cervical pain, meditation and relaxation.
They are produced with loving hands, carefully holding a meditative space while they blend and shape the sticks and cones. They are then dried and packaged in handmade boxes. They are made by local natives in Southern Peru. It is a Fair Trade project with people receiving a living wage and working in a cooperative environment. The individual blends offer a diversity of scents and energetics. The Palo Santo and Wiraqoya shown here have been used for thousands of years to promote spiritual and physical health. They are both native to the Andes Mountains.
Our Palo Santo (sticks and cones) is sustainably wild harvested from reserves in Ecuador and Peru from naturally fallen trees and branches that lie dead for 4-10 years before they are harvested.
A portion of the sales price goes to help replant these endangered trees.
